Abre Alas: let there be sound
There was once a very dull city, where a lot of things were forbidden, specially music: it was not allowed to sing, to dance or play any instrument. A heavy silence ihnabit every heart, until the day a misteryous character visited the town with a music box hidden under its cloak.
Freely based on a famous brazilian song composed by Chiquinha Gonzaga (first female conductor on the country and one of the most talented brazilian musicians), Abre Alas talks about oppression and the ability of music to empower people and inspire change. The first idea was to make images that translated the music to pictures, but in the process a little story was built in which music would be that magical thing that can bring people together and overthrow malice.
